Merry Christmas, Friends! 🎄
December 25, 2022
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
—Isaiah 7:14 NIV
Dear Friends,
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones! 🎄
One of my favorite things about Christmas is the spirit that comes with the season. There seems to be a renewed goodness in humanity, in which we all stop, even temporarily, and remember to be kind, to give, to love, and to spread joy.
Perhaps it’s the decorations or the gift-giving. Perhaps it’s the wonder and the anticipation for what is to come. In this season, more so than others, we seem to think of others, try to make another’s Christmas special, and stop to remember what’s important and meaningful.
Immanuel means God with us. We are reminded from this verse in Isaiah that God is with us this season, today, and always. This verse also shows us that it is not the spirit that comes with this season that makes it special, but rather, it is His Spirit that works through us to share His goodness, grace, mercy, and love with those around us.
As you celebrate Christmas today, remember the sign that God gave us—a miracle—and what that sign was called—God with us. The miracle of this season is that Jesus came to be with us; because of it, His Spirit dwells in us to make each Christmas season memorable for those we love.
I pray that this day finds you surrounded by family and friends, laughs and giggles, and comfort and joy as you spread His Spirit and love to others. 🌟
With love,
DQ 💜
